SAN DIEGO — An aircrew from U.S. Coast Guard Sector San Diego medically evacuated an injured man from a fishing vessel 95 miles south of San Diego, Tuesday night.
The crew of the 70-foot sport fishing vessel Eclipse contacted the Joint Harbor Operation Center at 8:10 p.m., requesting a medevac for a man with a severe cut on his arm.
An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Sector San Diego was diverted to conduct the medevac. The 26-year-od man was hoisted into the helicopter and transported to Sector San Diego at approximately 11 p.m.
The man was transferred to emergency medical personnel for further care.
