BOSTON — The Coast Guard flew a 5-year-old girl from Nantucket Cottage Hospital to Massachusetts General Hospital Thursday, after she sustained an injury to her arm.
At about 4 p.m., Nantucket Cottage Hospital contacted watchstanders at the First Coast Guard District stating that MedFlight was unable to fly due to unsafe weather conditions.
Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod launched a MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter at about 4:45 p.m. The air crew arrived at Nantucket Cottage Hospital, brought the girl aboard, and transported her to Massachusetts General Hospital for advanced medical care.
The girl was reported to be in stable condition.
