CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Coast Guard medevaced an injured crewman from an oil rig 45 miles off the coast of Port O’Connor, Texas, late Tuesday night.
A watchstander at Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi received a call for assistance from a crewman on the ENSCO 75 oil rig at 11:10 p.m. Tuesday, reporting that one of their crewmen had been injured and needed medical assistance.
Coast Guard Air Station Corpus Christi launched an HH-65C Dolphin helicopter crew to medevac the man. The helicopter crew arrived on scene, hoisted the injured man and transported him to Spohn Memorial Hospital in Corpus Christi.
