Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg command center watchstanders were notified by the commercial fishing vessel that the master of the boat had been in pain for more than 12 hours.
Watchstanders launched an Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew who hoisted the man from vessel and transported to Tampa General Hospital, where the man was transferred to medical personnel.
The crew of the fishing vessel was able to safely navigate the vessel back to port.
