Coast Guard Medevacs Fishermen

CHARLESTON, S.C. — Coast Air Facility Charleston medically evacuated a fisherman with a laceration on his arm approximately 80-miles off the coast of Charleston Wednesday night.

Larry Horne, 55, of Charleston, was injured while fishing off the coast of Charleston. His crew requested assistance from the Coast Guard Cutter Harriet Lane, which was in the area.

Once aboard the Harriet Lane, their medical staff stabilized him and then requested that Air Facility Charleston launch to transport Horne from the cutter to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

Horne was transported from the cutter to the hospital in stable condition.
