Coast Guard medevacs fisherman suffering from flu-like symptoms

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – The Coast Guard medevaced a fisherman today who was suffering from severe flu-like symptoms about 33 miles south-southeast of Cape May, N.J.

Medevaced was Matthew Villinger, 30, of Manahawkin, N.J.

The Coast Guard received the call at 12:55 p.m. today from a member aboard the 62-foot fishing boat F. Nelson Blount stating Villinger was suffering from severe flu-like symptoms.

A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Cape May responded and transferred Villinger back to the Coast Guard station to awaiting EMS personnel.

The F. Nelson Blount is homeported in Barnegat Light, N.J.
