Coast Guard medevacs female camper from Santa Rosa Island

SAN PEDRO, Calif. – The Coast Guard medevaced a 24-year-old woman from Santa Rosa Island, Wednesday night.

National Park Service Rangers relayed a call for help to watchstanders at the Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach Command Center, stating a woman was suffering from severe abdominal pains.

A MH-65 Dolphin helicopter was launched from Coast Guard Air Station Los Angeles to pick up the woman and transport her to St. John’s Hospital in Oxnard, Calif.

The woman was camping at Bechers Bay campground with a group of friends when she started feeling pain.
