Coast Guard medevacs diver near Cape May, N.J.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – The Coast Guard medevaced a 34-year old scuba diver from a boat today 38 miles southeast of Cape May, N.J.

The Coast Guard received a call at 10:17 a.m. from a crew member aboard the dive boat Bubble Trouble reporting a diver had surfaced unconscious and was in need of assistance.

A helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City arrived on scene and hoisted the diver from aboard the pleasure craft Barroness into their helicopter.

The aircrew transported the man to Cape May County Airport in Wildwood, N.J., and transferred him to awaiting emergency medical personnel.
