SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas — The Coast Guard medevaced a 40-year-old man Saturday from a charter boat about 30 miles east of Arroyo City.
At 11:19 a.m., the charter boat Thunderbird operator contacted Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi watchstanders to report that a 40-year-old diabetic man had been going in and out of consciousness and was in need of medical attention.
A Coast Guard Air Station Corpus Christi MH-65 Dolphin aircrew arrived on scene at noon and medevaced the diabetic man to Valley Baptist Medical Center. A Coast Guard Station South Padre Island boat crew also arrived on scene to provide assistance.
The man’s condition is unknown.
