CLEARWATER, Fla. — The Coast Guard medically evacuated a cruise ship passenger approximately 130 miles southwest of Key West, Fla., Monday.
A Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew safely hoisted the 21-year-old woman and transported her to Lower Keys Medical Center in Key West.
The 1,025-foot cruise ship Explorer of the Seas was en route to Port Everglades, Fla., when the passenger started experiencing symptoms of appendicitis.
