Coast Guard medevacs cruise ship Carnival Triumph passenger

45 Hobucken, N.C.A Coast Guard boat crew medevaced a 60-year-old female from a cruise ship approximately seven miles offshore from Venice, Louisiana, Monday evening.

Coast Guard Sector New Orleans watchstanders received a request at 8:43 p.m. from the crew of the cruise ship Carnival Triumph for the medevac of a passenger who had sustained an injury.

Watchstanders launched a 45-foot response boat crew from Coast Guard Station Venice which arrived on scene at 9:39 p.m. and transported the patient and her husband to emergency medical services at Station Venice.

EMS transported the patient and her husband to Ochsner Medical Center in Kenner, Louisiana, and was reported in stable condition.
