CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coast Guard medevaced a 54-year-old man approximately 46 miles offshore of Matagorda, Texas, Monday morning.
Coast Guard Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi watchstanders received a request from the crew of the platform 105B stating a crewmemeber was exhibiting signs of a heart attack and in need of medical assistance. Watchstanders consulted with the duty flight surgeon who recommended the medevac.
An Air Station Corpus Christi MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew was launched to the scene.
The Dolphin helicopter crew hoisted and transferred the man to awaiting emergency medical services personnel at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi.
Weather on scene was reported as 4-foot seas with 26 mph winds.
