CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas— The Coast Guard medevaced a boater Saturday evening from a 48-foot vessel three miles northeast of Port Aransas.
Coast Guard Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi watchstanders received a report from Sea Tow dispatchers that a 56-year-old woman aboard the vessel Viking was reportedly suffering from a possible back injury after the vessel ran aground in Redfish Bay. Watchstanders consulted with the duty flight surgeon who recommended the medevac.
A Coast Guard Station Port Aransas 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew arrived on scene and transported the injured woman to awaiting emergency medical services personnel at Conn Brown Harbor.
The woman was reported to be in stable condition.
