BARNEGAT BAY, N.J. — The Coast Guard medevaced a woman after two boats allided approximately two miles north of Barnegat Bay, New Jersey, Sunday afternoon.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay received a report from a Sea Tow employee at 2:58 p.m. that a recreational boat had allided with a second boat that had run aground, causing injuries to one of the boaters. A Coast Guard Station Barnegat Light 29-foot Response Boat-Small boat crew launched to medevac the injured boater.
Once on scene, the boat crew transferred the injured boater to awaiting emergency medical services personnel at Station Barnegat Light.
The injured passenger was taken to AtlantiCare Hospital in Atlantic City.
