SAN DIEGO — An aircrew from U.S. Coast Guard Sector San Diego medically evacuated a man from a sport fishing boat 80 miles southwest of San Diego Friday morning.
At approximately 8:40 a.m., crewmembers of the fishing vessel Eclipse reported to the Coast Guard that a 35-year-old man aboard the boat was experiencing chest pain and needed medical attention.
An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew took off from Sector San Diego and flew to the fishing boat’s location offshore, where they hoisted the man into the aircraft.
The man was transported back to Sector San Diego and transferred to emergency medical personnel for further treatment.
