MIAMI — The Coast Guard medevaced a 78-year-old man from the cruise ship, Viking Sky, Monday at the Key West sea buoy.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Key West received the request from cruise ship at approximately 5:50 p.m. for a 78-year-old man experiencing stroke-like symptoms. Coast Guard Station Key West launched a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium boatcrew to the vessel where they embarked the patient.

The patient was then transferred ashore to awaiting emergency medical services.
