Coast Guard medevacs 75-year-old man from cruise ship

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Crewmembers from Coast Guard Station St. Petersburg medically evacuated a 75-year-old man from a cruise ship near Egmont Key, Fla., at about 11:15 a.m. Sunday.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg received a call from the cruise ship Carnival Legend at about 10:30 a.m. requesting that Charles Moore, 75, be medically evacuated due to possible congestive cardiac failure.

A Coast Guard Station St. Petersburg 41-foot motor life boat crew was immediately launched to evacuate Moore, and he was taken to awaiting EMS at the Fort Desoto boat ramp, in St. Petersburg.

His condition is unknown.
