Coast Guard medevacs 55-year-old near Annapolis, Md.

BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard medevaced a 55-year-old woman Saturday from a sailboat one mile south of Thomas Point Light near Annapolis.

A person aboard the sailboat Tom Tom contacted Coast Guard Sector Baltimore watchstanders on VHF-FM channel 16 at approximately 12 p.m., reporting a passenger aboard the sailboat was experiencing heat exhaustion.

A boatcrew aboard a 29-foot Response Boat – Small II from Coast Guard Station Annapolis arrived on scene and transferred the woman aboard. The woman was transported to Anchor Yacht Basin in Selby-on-the-Bay, transferred to awaiting emergency medical personnel and taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis.
