SAN DIEGO — The Coast Guard medevaced a 52-year-old man approximately 10 miles south of San Clemente Island, Thursday.
At approximately 10:40 a.m., the crew of the 62-foot fishing vessel Fortune contacted Coast Guard Sector San Diego’s Joint Harbor Operations Center watchstanders to report a passenger experiencing sea sickness and possible complications related to diabetes.
A Coast Guard Sector San Diego MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew was launched to medevac the man.
At approximately 12:30 p.m., the Jayhawk crew arrived on scene, hoisted the passenger then transferred him to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla.
His condition is unknown.
