Coast Guard medevacs 43-year-old woman 13 miles west of Clearwater, Fla

SAND KEY, Fla.— The Coast Guard medevaced a 43-year old woman from a boat 13 miles west of Clearwater, Florida, Sunday.

At 11:50 a.m. watchstanders from Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg, Florida received a report via VHF-FM radio channel 16 from the captain of the Double Eagle II, that a woman was experiencing chest pains and was in need of emergency medical assistance.

A Coast Guard flight surgeon was contacted and recommended the woman be medevaced.

At 12:30 p.m. a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium boatcrew from Coast Guard Station Sand Key, arrived on scene, embarked the woman and transported her to Clearwater (Florida) Harbor Marina. She was transferred to EMS at the marina for further medical assistance. She was reported to be in stable condition.
