Coast Guard medevacs 14-year-old girl from crusie ship

HOUSTON – The Coast Guard medevaced a 14-year-old girl off the cruise ship Voyager of the Seas, 200-miles southeast of Galveston, Saturday.

Watchstanders at the Coast Guard’s Eighth District operations center in New Orleans received a call at 12:50 p.m. from a crewmember onboard the cruise ship reporting a passenger had fainted and was in-need of medical attention.

The Coast Guard launched an Air Station Houston MH-65 rescue helicopter crew and an Air Station Corpus Christi Falcon jet crew to assist with the medevac.

The MH-65 rescue helicopter crew safely medevaced the passenger to Memorial Hermann in Houston where her condition is unknown.
