NEW ORLEANS — The Coast Guard medevaced a man, Friday, approximately two miles south of South Pass in the Gulf of Mexico.
Rescued was Marty Stein, 60.
At approximately 9:20 a.m., watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector New Orleans command center received a call via channel 16 from a person aboard a 20-foot recreational vessel reporting that Stein required a medevac due to a head injury sustained after the vessel ran hard aground.
An MH-65C rescue helicopter and crew from Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans transported Stein to West Jefferson Medical Center.
His condition is unknown.
