Coast Guard looking for possible missing person on Winthrop Beach, Mass.

BOSTON — The Coast Guard is looking for a possible missing person on Winthrop Beach, Massachusetts, Sunday.

Watchstanders at the Coast Guard Sector Boston Command Center received notification from the Harbor Master at approximately 11:30 p.m. Saturday that a beach towel, purse, shoes and shorts were found on the beach at 7:00 p.m.

A Coast Guard Station Point Allerton, Massachusetts, 25-foot response boat crew and a Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod, Massachusetts, MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew was launched to search. The Harbor Master has a small-boat with a crew aboard assisting in the search.

Anyone with information about the missing items or the person who they may belong too is asked to call the Sector Boston Command Center at 617-223-5757.
