BOOTHBAY HARBOR, Maine – The Coast Guard is looking for information regarding a flare sighted in Georges River near Thomaston Harbor at around 6:30 p.m., Jan. 8, 2011.
Coast Guard Sector Northern New England received a report of the flare from a good Samaritan on shore.
Coast Guard Station Boothbay Harbor is currently searching the area along with the Maine Marine Patrol and local sheriff.
Coast Guard Sector Northern New England is asking anyone who may have friends or family hunting in the area that might have any information to contact their command center at 207-741-0303.
