Coast Guard locates overdue fishermen in Gulf of Mexico

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard located three fishermen, Wednesday, in the Gulf of Mexico, who were reported overdue, Tuesday.

Coast Guard Sector Mobile received a report Wednesday, at approximately 5:50 a.m., from a Southwest Pass pilot boat that the Miss Sue and crewmembers were approximately 20 miles south of Venice, La.

Coast Guard Sector New Orleans watchstanders received a report from Jean Breazeale, Monday at approximately 10 p.m., that Larry Folse, Glenn Jackson, Jr., and Glenn Jackson III had not return home after a transit from Georgia to Grand Isle, La.

Coast Guard Station Venice launched two 33-foot response boats and crews to the scene to assist.

The Coast Guard recommends that all mariners file a float plan prior to embarking on a trip.
