BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard, along with state and local agencies, are searching Saturday for a missing boater in the North East River.
Coast Guard Sector Baltimore watchstanders received a call from a good Samaritan at approximately 2:45 a.m., Saturday reporting an unmanned vessel doing circles off shore from the Turkey Point Lighthouse.
A boat crew aboard a 29-foot Response Boat – Small from Coast Guard Station Still Pond launched to search for the boater along with assistance personnel from the Maryland Natural Resources Police, Hartford County, Aberdeen Proving Grounds and Cecil County.
A Hartford County crew was the first to find the 23-foot boat running in circles.
Maryland Natural Resources Police has the lead in the investigation.
