Coast Guard, local police search for missing 10-year-old swimmer in Atlantic City, NJ

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — The Coast Guard is searching for a missing swimmer near the boardwalk here Sunday.

A member of the Atlantic City Police Department notified Coast Guard Station Atlantic City watchstnders at about 7:10 p.m., reporting a 10-year-old boy, wearing orange shorts, went missing while swimming with his sister.

After he went under water, his sister swam to shore for help and notified a woman who reported the distress to the police.

Crews aboard two 25-foot Response Boat – Smalls from Station Atlantic City, an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City and Atlantic City police officers are searching for the child.
