Coast Guard, local first responders rescue two fishermen near Keyport, N.J.

65 Atlantic CityNEW YORK — A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew and local first responders rescue two fishermen in Keyport, New Jersey, Friday.

At approximately 8:00 p.m., watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector New York’s Command Center received a call from the Monmouth County Police Department, requesting Coast Guard support for two fishermen stuck in the marsh near Keyport.

Monmouth County Fire Department was on scene and able to rescue one of the two fishermen.

An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City arrived on scene and safely hoisted the remaining fisherman at 10:34 p.m.

The helicopter crew transferred the man to emergency medical service personnel at the McGuire Air Force Base in Trenton, New Jersey.
