Coast Guard, local agency rescue 10 near Washington, DC

29 Station WashingtonBALTIMORE — The Coast Guard and local agency rescued 10 boaters Monday from the Potomac River near Washington.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Baltimore received a report at approximately 1 p.m. of two overturned scull boats along with a capsized trail boat and kayak.

Two 29-foot Response Boat-Small crew from Coast Guard Station Washington diverted to assist.

Two D.C. Metro fireboat crews responded and rescued five of the boaters. One Coast Guard crew rescued four, and the second Coast Guard crew rescued the kayaker.

There were no reports of injuries.
