NEW ORLEANS — The Coast Guard suspended the search for a missing person in the water on the Upper Mississippi River near mile marker 175, near Reidy Terminals, Missouri, Thursday.
The search for the 29-year-old man was suspended at 9:49 p.m., Thursday after the Coast Guard and local agencies searched from mile marker 149 to mile marker 175 for approximately 17 hours.
The missing man was reported to have fallen off a kayak after hitting towlines between two barges Thursday morning. He was reportedly not wearing a life jacket.
