NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard is searching for a person in the water near South Pass, Louisiana, Wednesday.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a report at 8:33 a.m. from a good Samaritan that two men were found on the beach at South Pass after their vessel capsized. A survivor reported that a 60-year-old male was still missing.
Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene and confirmed that one of the men found on shore was deceased.
The 27-foot blue aluminum recreational boat reportedly capsized at approximately 7 a.m. and washed up on shore.

- Plaquemines Parish Sherriff’s Office

The cause of the incident is under investigation.
