Coast Guard, local agencies search for person in the water in Lake Pontchartrain

Coast Guard 45-foot Response Boat-MediumNEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard and local agencies are searching for a person in the water and a 14-foot johnboat in Lake Pontchartrain near Seabrook Bridge, Wednesday.

Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a report from a motorist driving on the bridge who reported seeing a person fall from a capsized 14-foot johnboat in Lake Pontchartrain at 2:39 p.m.

The good Samaritan reportedly pulled over to call local agencies and noticed the person was no longer in sight.
