Coast Guard, local agencies search for missing swimmer near Oregon Inlet, N.C.

OREGON INLET, N.C. – Coast Guard and local agencies are searching for a missing 19-year-old male who was swimming near the Oregon Inlet campgrounds Wednesday morning.

Missing is Brian Mouring from Williamsburg, Va.

Coast Guard Sector North Carolina received a call from Dare County 911 dispatch at 10 a.m., reporting the missing swimmer.

An HH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City, along with a 47-foot Motor Life Boat crew and 25-foot Response Boat-Small crew from Coast Guard Station Oregon Inlet are currently on scene searching for the swimmer.

Crews from Nags Head Fire and Rescue Department, Nags Head Ocean Rescue, North Carolina Park Rangers and North Carolina Fish and Game are also on scene.
