Coast Guard, Local Agencies Responding to Sheen in South SF Bay

ALAMEDA, Calif., The Coast Guard is responding with local agencies to a report of a sheen in a canal south of San Francisco International Airport.

Coast Guard Sector San Francisco was notified of the sheen at approximately 5:40 p.m. The sheen was discovered by the Burlingame Fire Department, who reported it to the National Response Center. At the time of the report, the sheen was believed to be 30 feet by 100 feet.

Coast Guard investigators from Sector San Francisco were dispatched. A San Mateo HAZMAT team is on scene with the Burlingame Fire Department.
