Coast Guard, local agencies rescue 2 near Hart Miller Island, Md.

45 Curtis BayBALTIMORE — The Coast Guard and local partner agencies responded Sunday to two people aboard a boat taking on water near Hart Miller Island.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Maryland-National Capital Region received a report from Baltimore County Fire Rescue dispatch stating a boat was taking on water, and the owner was unsure if the bilge pumps could keep up.

Sector Maryland-NCR issued an urgent marine information broadcast and launched a boat crew aboard a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium from Coast Guard Station Curtis Bay. Boat crews from Baltimore County Fire Rescue and Maryland Natural Resources Police, and a helicopter crew from Maryland State Police also responded.

Station Curtis Bay and Baltimore County Fire Rescue crews conducted dewatering efforts.

Baltimore County Fire Rescue escorted the boat to Rocky Point Marina.

No injuries were reported.
