RIVERSIDE, Fla. – The Coast Guard re-opened the Alafia River to all vessel traffic today after relief workers gained control of an ammonia gas leak that began Nov. 12 under the U.S. 301 bridge.

Officials from the Environmental Protection Agency and Hillsborough County Fire and Rescue have tested the area and determined the air surrounding the site is clear of all contaminants and safe to breathe.
