Coast Guard lifts port restrictions for Port of Key West following Hurricane Gustav

MIAMI – As of 12:30 p.m. Sunday, the Captain of the Port for Key West, Fla., returned the Port of Key West to port condition four and is open to commercial and recreational traffic.

There have been no reports of any damage caused by Hurricane Gustav to aids to navigation in the area. All marine operations including those at waterfront facilities and vessel transits may occur subject to prudent seamanship and safe work practices. Mariners should remain vigilant, keep a sharp lookout and report any hazards to the Captain of the Port.
