Coast Guard lifts port conditions in Brunswick following Tropical Storm Fay

BRUNSWICK, Ga. – The Captain of the Port for Savannah established port readiness condition four at 3 p.m. Saturday for coastal Brunswick due to the movement of Tropical Storm Fay.

Two aids to navigation were damaged by the storm and efforts are underway to have them repaired. Until they are repaired, the owner, operator, master or agent of any oceangoing vessel or oceangoing barge over 500-gross tons desiring to enter or depart the Port of Brunswick between sunset and sunrise must request permission to do so from the Captain of the Port.

All other marine operations including those at waterfront facilities and vessel transits may occur subject to prudent seamanship and safe work practices. The Captain of the Port may be contacted at 912-652-4353.
Port condition four is the normal port condition during hurricane season.
