Pacific Southwest Coast Guard News
SAN PEDRO, Calif. – The Coast Guard and the Los Angeles Port Police Maritime Law Enforcement Training Center are co-sponsoring the first ever Southern California Law Enforcement Boat Tactics Summit, May 8-9, as part of the ongoing partnership to help combat the flow of illegal narcotics and human smuggling via the Pacific Ocean into California.

Approximately 25 local, state and federal agencies from San Diego to San Francisco are planning to attend to discuss how to better coordinate and interact on the water, ultimately leading to even better coordination during patrols and responding to cases of smuggling.

The goal of the summit is to improve the shared understanding of each agency’s maritime law enforcement capabilities, authorities, jurisdictions, tactics, and policies.
