Coast Guard, Kamchatka Border Guard sign joint agency protocol document in Anchorage, Alaska

Anchorage – Coast Guard Rear Adm. Thomas Ostebo, commander, 17th Coast Guard District, and Rear Adm. Sergey Vitalievich Shcherbakov, commander, Kamchatka Border Guard Directorate of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, signed a joint agency protocol document in Anchorage, Alaska, April 18, 2013.

The protocol document highlighted discussions between the agencies for continued coordination and support of maritime security and fisheries law enforcement in the North Pacific Ocean and Bering Sea.

The document signing concluded a biannual meeting, which has been held since 1995, alternating between locations in Alaska and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatka, Russia.
