Coast Guard, Hudson Marine Management hold tabletop exercise

PHILADELPHIA – Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay and Hudson Marine Management, based in Pennsauken, N.J., conducted a tabletop exercise Tuesday at the Union League here.

The purpose of the exercise was to test agency and industry response to a simulated oil spill in the Delaware River.

Attendees from the Coast Guard included Lt. William McKinstry, Maritime All Hazards Response Division Chief, and Ensign Justin Gear, MAHR Division Supervisor.

The members of Hudson Marine Management, as well as their foreign shipping vessel clients, also received a tour of Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay. The tour included a briefing from Sector Delaware Bay’s Response, Preventions, and Planning Chiefs as well as a tour of the facility, including Sector Delaware Bay’s boats and Coast Guard Station Philadelphia.
