WINCHESTER BAY, Ore. — Coast Guard Station Umpqua River, located in Winchester Bay, is holding its 3rd annual canned food drive at the station now through Nov. 15, 2012.
The Thunderwater 3000 Canned Food Drive aims to collect 3000 non-perishable food items for local food banks.
“For every canned food item donated, a local Coast Guardsman will run, bike or swim one mile,” said Petty Officer 1st Class Ben Snider, head of the food drive at Station Umpqua River.
Donations will be accepted in person or by mail at:
