ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — The Coast Guard rescued two children, ages 11 and 13, who were stranded in a marsh near Oyster Creek Saturday.
The children’s father contacted watchstanders at Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City at about 8:20 p.m. to report the distress. He explained he had been fishing with his two sons before they departed the boat and became stranded after the tide went out.
An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City arrived on scene at about 9 p.m., hoisted the boys from the marsh and transported them to the Coast Guard air station. The boys were reported to be in good health.
