Good Samaritans rescue 2 near Barnegat Light, N.J.

BARNEGAT LIGHT, N.J. — Good Samaritans rescued 2 people from the water after their 17-foot boat they were aboard capsized a half mile from Barnegat Light Inlet Sunday.

The Coast Guard recieved a call at 10:16 a.m. from a good Samaritan reporting they picked up one person from the water and another good Samaritan picked up the other person. They were both wearing life jackets.

A 47-foot Motor Life Boat crew from Coast Guard Station Barnegat Light arrived on scene and escorted the good Samaritans to the station where the rescued were transferred to awaiting emergency medical personnel and released in good condition.
