CLEVELAND — The Coast Guard assisted four people Friday evening who were aboard a 12-foot sailing catamaran that capsized in Lake Michigan.

At about 7 p.m., a watchstander at Coast Guard Station Kenosha, Wis., was contacted by a good Samaritan who reported that he rescued four people in Lake Michigan near North Point Marina in Winthrop Harbor, Ill., after their catamaran capsized. The good Samaritan remained on scene but said he was not able to re-right the capsized boat.

A boat crew from Station Kenosha launched aboard a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium to assist.

The boat crew took the four people onto the RB-M, re-righted the capsized boat, and towed it to Winthrop Harbor Marina. At the marina, emergency medical services personnel examined the four boaters and released them in good condition.
