SAN PEDRO, Calif. — The Coast Guard responded Sunday morning to a report of a passenger on a 36-foot recreational vessel experiencing pain caused by an unknown medical condition. A 41-foot Utility Boat from Coast Guard Station Channel Islands Harbor was launched to the scene and safely escorted the vessel into Channel Islands Harbor.
The Coast Guard responded Sunday night to a report of a vessel that had lost power off the coast of Morro Bay, Calif. A 47-foot Motor Life Boat from Coast Guard Station Morro Bay was launched to the scene and safely towed the vessel back to Morro Bay Harbor.
The Coast Guard responded to a report early Monday that a 30-foot recreational vessel had run aground near Santa Barbara, Calif. with four people on board.
A MH-65C Dolphin helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Los Angeles and Coast Guard Cutter Blackfin, homeported in Santa Barbara, were dispatched to the scene.
One man was hoisted off the vessel by the helicopter crew while the remaining three passengers stayed with the vessel. They were able to transit safely to shore after the vessel was refloated at high tide by a commercial towing company. No injuries or signs of pollution have been reported.
