Coast Guard evacuates man from vessel near Ocean Park

SEATTLE – The Coast Guard performed the medical evacuation of a man from a 470-foot commercial vessel today.

The crew of the motor vessel Porto Vitilo was 15 miles west of Ocean Park, Wash., when they reported Georgios Papazolou, a 53-year-old Greek citizen, was complaining of shortness of breath and chest pains. An HH-60 helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Astoria, Ore., was dispatched to retrieve Papazolou.

Papzolou was taken to Air Station Astoria where emergency medical service personnel transported him to Columbia Memorial Hospital for treatment.
