CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coast Guard has ended the search for an overdue jet skier after he was found by a good Samaritan vessel approximately two miles north of the Queen Isabella Causeway along the intracoastal waterway, Monday morning.
At 7:52 a.m., Coast Guard Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi watchstanders received notification that the missing jet skier had been located and picked up from a sandbar by a good Samaritan vessel.
There were no medical concerns.
The search began Sunday when Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi watchstanders received a report of an overdue 27-year-old man who was due to return his rented jet ski at 5 p.m.
Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi watchstanders issued an urgent marine information broadcast and launched a Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi HC-144 Ocean Sentry aircrew and a Coast Guard Station South Padre Island 33-foot Special Purpose Craft–Law Enforcement boat crew. The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Alligator was diverted to the scene.
