MIAMI — The Coast Guard ended search and rescue attempts for a missing diver southeast of New Providence, Bahamas, Sunday afternoon.
The search was ended following a report from the Royal Bahamian Defense Force that the diver swam ashore in New Providence and no longer required Coast Guard assistance .
Watchstanders at the Coast Guard Seventh District command center received a report from the Royal Bahamian Defense Force of two divers who were reported missing after their 21-foot pleasure craft became adrift and was towed back to port.
The first diver swam ashore earlier in the morning.
