Coast Guard Ends Search for Man off Marco Island

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Coast Guard ended the search for a missing male about one-mile west of Marco Island, Fla., at about 2 p.m. today, when a Collier County Sheriff’s Department Dive Team discovered the body of 20-year-old James Molter.

Coast Guard rescue crews, along with state and local agencies, have been searching for Molter since Saturday, when authorities received a report that a 30-foot speed boat flipped end over end and crashed into the water nose first leaving three dead, one seriously injured and Molter missing.

Harper Simpson, 31, Linda Molter, 42, Megan Molter, 22, and James Molter, 20, all from Naples, Fla., were killed in the accident. Jennifer Molter, 16, was seriously injured and transferred to Naples Hospital in Naples, Fla.
